First Email

I wrote the first email to you without having looked yet at the book. I went to the website after having sent you my initial email, and I’m at the point where you are crying in your kitchen after chatting with John Lennon who is sitting on your couch. I absolutely LOVE this book so far! I’m not just saying that. You are an amazing writer and you are telling and interweaving this account in a masterful way. I’m hooked—I want to keep reading. Also, on a personal note, I need to keep reading because it is offering confirmation for some experiences I’ve recently had. You have no idea how relieving it is for me to read this. I don’t know exactly what prompted you to contact me yesterday, but this is a God-send, in the truest sense of the word.

2nd Email

I’m at the part where you have gone to the theatre (Mama Mia) and you find out you have to sit alone in the audience as there aren’t three tickets in one row. I just now realized something—after I read your email last night (and obviously before I went to the website this morning and knew the content of your book), I turned the TV to Antiques Roadshow—and what was being evaluated? The son of the man who owned Capitol Records in the late 60s and 70s, had brought in Beatle’s signatures, photos, and the first Beatle’s release on the Apple label. When I tuned in the man was showing a poster-sized photo of himself as a little boy (maybe 1970), his father and John Lennon. John Lennon was holding a drink and he had signed the photo with something humorous—I can’t quite remember, because, of course, I wasn’t paying particular attention because I had no idea that the “Phoenix” referenced in your email, meant “John Lennon.” I just reached “Wreath Pendant” and saw that you were watching Antiques Roadshow (see what I wrote below). Seeing your reference to Antiques Roadshow just made me feel dizzy like I was going to faint.

Third Email

Last email today, I promise. I just read through page 16 of “Phoenix” which seems to be the last page of entries—I do hope there’s more. I love it. It’s amazing on many levels. I want to digest and reflect on what you have written as it has moved me deeply with its profound devotion, humor, and its genuine, raw honesty. The tone is conversational, accessible, and not at all “preachy.” I want to assist you in whatever way I can with this. I’ll be back in touch!

Fourth Email

I dreamt last night that your mother suddenly appeared to me in order to give me a singing lesson. I was reluctant but she led me through breathing exercises and perhaps some scales(?)—I’m not sure of any of this as I’ve never had a singing lesson in my life (and I don’t know how to sing). At what point she sang something very simple—just a few notes-and she asked me to repeat it. I did so, and she wasn’t exactly thrilled with the result, but told me I had much work to do and this understanding would take practice and discipline. And then, poof, she disappeared. I’m sure this was obviously influenced by my reading of “Phoenix” but honestly, I don’t normally nor immediately dream things that have just occurred in my “real” life.

Fifth Email

Just a quick note before I begin reading the rest of the book and before I answer your wonderful email back to me. I consider this a synchronicity or a sign about the power of your book. After I read your book on the website last Wednesday morning, which happened to be Ash Wednesday, I had to attend a meeting in Seattle that evening. My friend was driving us to the Bainbridge Ferry late that afternoon and she had asked what I did that morning. I told her that my friend had sent me the beginning of a book that she was writing about her personal meditation experiences and that I found the content so engaging and interesting that I couldn’t put it down. I then said that many of the meditations involve Jesus and Mary, but that quite a few involve John Lennon. Well, my friend nearly drove off the road.

She told me that she had taken a meditation class and that the spiritual instructor had led the class through a guided meditation in which a spiritual figure would meet them and serve as a sort of a guide. At the conclusion of the meditation my friend felt as though she had done something wrong—everyone had met such figures as Jesus, Mary, St. Christopher, Mother Teresa, but who had appeared to her? John Lennon. And he had appeared sitting on a couch in a white room. He had told her that he was there if she ever needed to talk to someone. So, John Lennon had appeared on Antiques Roadshow right after I read your initial email, Tuesday evening, and then he shows up on Ash Wednesday as I’m driving to the ferry, having “appeared” to my friend in a guided meditation several years ago. Right now I just opened a breaking news website (where I go for news) and this information was posted: Tony Sheridan, who made several recordings with the Beatles in 1961, has died at 72 years old. He recorded “My Bonnie” and “The Saints” in June 1961. He was backed by John Lennon, George Harrison, and Pete Best, the Beatle’s drummer prior to Ringo Starr. “My Bonnie” made #5 in the charts in Germany.

Ninth Email

I’m part of a political forum—to read the latest political news and sometimes people post opinion things. After the breaking news story I just sent you about Tony Sheridan, I went to the website to get my political fix for the day. Someone just now posted this (look below) within a minute of me going to the website. I’m really kind of freaked out by all of this. Obviously, something is going on which I don’t understand. I think all of this is supposed to be confirmation/affirmation for you to do this something serious with this book. I’m used to synchronicities, but this is over the top—and I know it’s meant for you—you must believe in the divine inspiration of this project you are working on. Here’s the post:

John Lennon was a wise, wise man.

Just when I think I’ve heard or read all the great things he has to say, along comes another. Like the rest of us, he had his flaws but the world is much poorer for his loss.

Tenth email

Those powerful synchronicities were a bit upsetting for some reason. Seeing the John Lennon article get posted just after the breaking news about Tony Sheridan—well, it just freaked me out to the point of literally shaking. It’s really a good thing—it is confirmation for your work; nevertheless, seeing that confirmation comes so obviously and so “heavy-handed”, in a way, is shocking. But, it sounds like from your book, you have received these blatant signs before. I can’t believe some of the odd coincidences (signs) that have followed your meditations—truly amazing!

Lastly, I came across an article where a man claims that John Lennon appeared to him multiple times and gave him music lessons—how to play the guitar, sing, and compose. I thought that was interesting in light of your experiences. I think your book could appeal to a wide group of people out there, religious or not, and I think they will be changed for the better by having read it.

I will sit tomorrow and answer this lovely letter you have written, but I just want to pass along two more signs for you, which happened this evening. I had a writing group at my house and one of the writers, who I haven’t seen in several months came over. I asked her how her fiction novel was coming along and she said that this morning as she was writing, she decided to add another character—Who was that character? Yes, John Lennon. I asked her if she has felt or had ever felt a special connection with John Lennon, and she said, “no”. Just on a whim, she had added him to her novel.

I hope these things don’t further upset you but I feel I must share these as they happen. I just have never experienced this type odd synchronicity —so darn obvious and so strong.

Eleventh email

I think the fact that I emailed you at 11:11pm. was part of the sign as well. I came so close to just going to bed because I was tired but like my friend I felt compelled to answer your email at the moment and it turns out 11:11 had significance for you. You are most definitely receiving “post-book” signs and John is convincing you. This must be part of the reason you sent it to me and part of the reason the book has moved me so deeply—this was a way for you to receive a sort of third party confirmation, and you don’t have any control over it. There is no way you can be manufacturing or imagining these very unusual synchronicities—they are simply coming at you and they are yours to reflect upon and digest. Honestly, this is the 11th email.

Twelfth email

For the past few months, I’ve had “saved searches” on eBay having to do with genealogy. I have a “saved search” for “Shaeffer” which is the maiden name of the great grandmother I wrote to you about in my last email. So today I get the list of items containing the word, “Shaeffer” and inexplicably a John Lennon album came up—that’s never happened. Also, I cannot find the word “Shaeffer” in any part of the title or description. A complete conundrum as to why this would suddenly show up in my usual “Shaeffer” search. I’ve attached the screenshot of the page. Very strange!

Thirteenth email

Regarding the sign on eBay from yesterday, I took a look at the second screen shot I sent you with list of “Shaeffer” items, and to the right is an advertisement for the book, “Proof of Heaven”—I think that is somehow significant to the sign. I really can’t tell you how odd it is for this John Lennon to show up on an “S” search because the name “Shaeffer” does not appear anywhere in the description. It’s like a bizarre glitch in their (eBay’s) system. Also, I don’t know if there is any significance to the title “Instant Karma” and “Uncut”. I was wondering if “Uncut” had to do with the editing aspect of the book. I awoke last night and regretted that I had told you to seek a large publishing house. I think a large publisher will want to mess too much with the content. I think, now, you should self-publish to maintain control or seek a small publisher who will not want to change your content/style. Also, I think you shouldn’t edit too much—that’s also part of the “Uncut.”

Does the notion of “Instant Karma” mean anything to you?

On Tuesday, I went to Snohomish, ( a town outside of Everett) with a friend. There are lots of antique stores there. We went into a Victorian mall ( with something like 50 sections run by different vendors—the sections were like the size of a small bedroom and all contained various antiques).

As we were walking into the Victorian mall I had an overwhelming sense of you and John—out of the blue. So, I said to John in my mind “I would like to send Lily another confirmation sign from you. If you can pull off me finding you in this Victorian mall I’ll be amazed.”

So as we were looking at the last few sections, oddly, there was a small area in this Victorian mall, devoted to the Beatles and not just the Beatles, but mostly John Lennon. I couldn’t believe it— my heart was suddenly beating fast and I felt woozy. I’m attaching the phone photos I took. I couldn’t believe it! John in the midst of this musty and frilly Victoriana!

I’m about to answer your lovely letter from two weeks ago, but wanted to send this to you first. (I’ll send two attached to this email and two attached in a separate email—not sure how big they are.)

The Real John Lennon?

I don’t know. Have I been somehow communicating, through my imagination, with the souls of people who have moved on, or has the subconscious part of my own spirit used relatable people from my conscious mind to inform and guide me? I do know, however, that my visions and the “people” in them had cured me of a terrible and chronic depression. I never resorted to prescription drugs, yet the difference in my psyche was nothing short of miraculous. That said, the best way to continue reading is to suspend the human penchant for practicality, the known world, and common sense and willingly take flight with me for awhile into the world of the Phoenix—into John’s world. As John Lennon had said once but lived more often:

“Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.”

John Lennon’s Connection to Mother Mary

John is connected to the Blessed Mother through his interest in world peace. World peace has been the recurring message of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her children and the reason for her many apparitions since the beginning of the twentieth century. At Fatima, where her most famous apparition occurred, she brought a message from God that peace could be achieved through prayer and sacrifice. She also brought, unannounced, the Miracle of the Sun. The Fatima miracles were observed and recorded by a crowd of 70,000 believers AND non-believers. Consequently, the events at Fatima bear looking into for anyone interested in furthering the cause of peace in the world.

Unbeknownst to John, the John Lennon/Yoko Ono bed-in for peace began on March 25th, the Annunciation of Mary. It’s when Mary gave her “Yes” to God to be the Mother of Jesus. Mother Mary connected her peace movement to John’s. “Yes” was an important word for John, also. As he sang “yes” is the answer in “Mind Games” and “yes” was literally written all over the landscape in the Yellow Submarine.

On November 21st 2008, the feast day of the Presentation of Mary, the Vatican issued a formal pardon for John Lennon’s comment concerning Christianity and the Beatles being more popular than Jesus and gave its endorsement for their music. I know many fans would disagree, but on its face, “Let it Be” is, in essence, a musical presentation of Mary. As an aside, when I’d originally heard about this furor from the Christian population regarding John’s statement that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. I felt bad for John because I think he was misunderstood. I think he really meant to say this: “It’s ridiculous how popular the Beatles are.”

Within minutes, the small, brick-walled ambulance courtyard outside the emergency room was filled with at least 200 people who were staring dumbly at the closed double doors. The TV crews, with no visible targets, trained their whiter-than-white lights on a solitary young man kneeling in the courtyard.

“. . . and deliver us from evil. Amen,” he chanted. “Hail Mary, full of grace, the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus . . . . John, as we all heard, has been shot. I make this public not by will. I am here to pray . . . . I am just a fan of John’s . . . join me.” Even the TV crews got tired of him in a few minutes…

“Is Mr. Lennon still in the hospital?” “His body is in the hospital.”

The press corps drifted back out to the emergency-room entrance. The kneeling saint was still going at it: “I have prayed previously in moments of crisis like this to Our Lady of the Rosary. I shall stay until the sun comes up to pray for the soul of our beloved friend and brother in spirit, John Lennon. I shall now pray the rosary and invite everyone to stay as long as they would like and join me.” A few persons did.

John Lennon died on the greatest feast day of the Blessed Mother in the Catholic Church, December 8th. Mary remembered he lost his mother early which affected him all his life. She remembered his plea to the Lord to “Help me to help myself.” She sent her servants to pray in his hour of need. She picked him right up.

I received all of the following real, unedited, believe-it-or not emails from my friend within one week of asking her to read Phoenix. We hadn’t been in contact for two years, The events which unfolded in her life then were so pertinent and striking, I’ve included them here. My friend knew of John Lennon, but was not a fan, per se. The incidents which took place were highly unusual.
